MY REVIEW: Never Blame the Umpire is about an eleven-year-old girl, Kate, who loves sports and poetry and is enjoying her summer until she heard the news that her mom is dying.  As a result, her life is turned upside down.  She tries to find ways to cope with this new chapter in her life that leaves her questioning God and His love.  I like poetry so I really enjoyed reading this book (which includes poetry here and there).  Yes, I cried.  It is sad but it is good.  You will see that God does care and His love for us is always there.  You will be reminded that each day is a gift from the Lord and that we should use it wisely by loving others, being thankful, and sharing joy & blessings with one another.  I recommend this book, especially for kids who have to go through a similar situation.
