Take Captive Every Thought to Make It Obedient to Christ

Our spiritual warfare begins in our mind/our thought. We cannot rely on our flesh to fight spiritual battles. We need God's power to destroy the strongholds (arguments and lofty opinions raised against the knowledge of God). These include ungodly philosophies, secular worldview, false religions, false teaching, cults, and any systems of thought that lead people away from God's truths, blind their mind, and keep them from knowing God. Spiritual warfare requires spiritual weapons. We must confront error and lies with the sword of the Spirit which is God's Word. We must take our every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Examine every thought in the light of His Word. Only then we can be free from the strongholds and from lies/deception from Satan. The devil loves to tempt God's children to fear, worry, doubt, get discouraged, feel depressed, and to sin. Reject those lies and redirect your thoughts to God's Word. May we view God, ourselves, the world, and circumstances through the lens of God's Word (Biblical worldview)! What consumes our mind controls our speech, our action/reaction, and our life.

"The spiritual battle, the loss or the victory, is always in the thought-world." (Francis Schaeffer)
"At every point right living begins with right thinking." (Bruce J. Milne)
"God will not live in the parlour of our hearts if we entertain the devil in the cellar of our thoughts." (Charles Spurgeon)

Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for giving me spiritual weapons to fight my spiritual battles! Please protect me from the things and thoughts that may tempt and pollute my mind. Please conform my mind and my thoughts to Christ. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
