- What occupies our mind/our thoughts? What do we allow in our mind through our eyes and ears? What we feed our minds determine what comes out in our words and actions. We must examine what we're putting into our mind through books, television, internet, movies, magazines, and conversations. Harmful or wholesome? Lies or truth? Dirty or pure? Disgusting or lovely?
- This verse serves as an awesome guideline. Paul tells us to fill our mind with and meditate on things that are true, noble (worthy of reverence), right (just), pure (not mixed with elements that would debase our soul), lovely (that which inspires love), admirable (of good report), excellent, and praiseworthy. Think God's thoughts!
- Reading God's Word and praying help us focus our mind on God and on what is good and pure.
