As stewards, we are managers responsible for God's resources/gifts and will be held accountable for using what God entrusts us with according to His will and purpose. Be faithful and responsible in how you use God-given gifts. God has given us our gift by grace and we minister it/use it by grace in grace. There's no reason for bragging whatsoever. There's no excuse that you cannot serve because you have no gifts, either. Every Christian is called to be a team player, not a spectator on a sideline. Various spiritual gifts enable the Body of Christ to function as a whole and to do the Kingdom's work. "Essential to unity is diversity. Unity of spirit and purpose can be maintained only through diversity of ministry. But unity is not uniformity. A football team whose players all wanted to play quarterback would have uniformity but not unity. It could not function as a team if everyone played the same position...God gives His people varieties of gifts just as players on a team have varieties of positions." (John MacArthur)
"If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen." (1 Peter 4:11) These are just a couple examples. Paul lists other examples of spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12 (some are duplicates). Do you know what your spiritual gifts are? To sum it up, our gift is from God and for others! We're blessed to be a blessing to others!

ReplyDeleteAmen. Love the music. I'd be curious to see what my spiritual gifts are.
ReplyDeleteGood call to action. I try, but I also fall short often. My goal is to continually improve and do better as each day comes.
