"And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:17b-19
God obviously can and does heal. But does He always heal? No (Paul was a good example)! (Physical) death happens to everyone, sooner or later. Some do die from sicknesses. God chooses to heal or not to heal according to His wisdom and purpose, hence healing is in His hands. All God's children will eventually receive His ultimate healing in heaven; "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain." (Revelation 21:4)
His love for us never changes and never fails. Being sure of and understanding God's love can bring us joy and contentment even in the midst of pain and suffering. "God may not remove the particular circumstances from your life that have caused you to suffer but He will remove the situation's ability to harm you (destroy your life). The spiritual strength that God gives you will overpower any physical pain that is present in your life."~Sean Nolan (p. 136, To Those Who Suffer: Understanding God's Purpose and Pathway through Pain) The quality of our life is not determined by our circumstances but by our relationship with God. Remember that we are complete in Christ. Keep trusting and obeying, keep praying, praising Him, and resting in Him! "Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You. I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands." Psalm 63:3-4

ReplyDeleteNothing can separate us from His love--a friend of mine died this past year and she was a powerful testimony that God doesn't always perform miracles of healing, but He can heal ultimately when we pass from this life and His power and love can be powerful in weakness and death.
