The 2 similes about the sun (as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and a strong man running a course assigned to him with joy) possibly refer to Jesus Christ, our Bridegroom and the Sun of Righteousness. The similes depict the bright, pleasant, joyful, delightful, vigorous aspect of the rising sun, which can also be said about Christ and His return. "But for you who revere My Name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall." (Malachi 4:2) Christ ran His course (His mission of redemption by dying on the cross for our sins) assigned to Him with joy. "Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Pioneer and Perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." (Hebrews 12:1b-3)
As the sun gives light and heat/warmth in the natural world, Christ, the Sun of Righteousness, does so spiritually. Just as the sun is the star at the center of the solar system and is the most important source of energy for life on earth, Christ is Source of all things (1 Corinthians 8:6, "For us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.") and should definitely be the Center of our lives. Just as nothing is hidden from the sun's influence, nothing can be hidden from Christ's influence.
Prayer: Praise Elohim! Thank You for making, upholding, and governing all things with love, grace, mercy, and faithfulness! The splendor, grandeur, and beauty of Your works demonstrate Your divine perfection. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for giving us eternal life and abundant life, and for illuminating, warming, and nourishing our hearts, mind, and soul!
