Should Christians Be Actively Involved in Solving Social Issues?

"He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8

"Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow." Isaiah 1:17

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27

We are called to be light in this dark world....to help the poor...to defend the defenseless...to be a voice for the voiceless...to be artisans of hope to the hopeless...to share with those in need...to make a difference in the world. There are so many social issues such as poverty, starvation, lack of clean drinking water, injustice, oppression, diseases, abortion, human trafficking, and orphans. We are to actively demonstrate Christ's love to all people. We must put our love into action.
