Friday's Fave Five #15

It's time for another Friday's Fave Five (hosted by Susanne at Living to Tell the Story).

My fave five this week include:
1. Work Fair.  My husband took the kids and me to his annual Work Fair on Saturday.  My husband is a City Civil Engineer.  We enjoyed visiting booths from different departments in the city.  They offered informational pamphlets, books, games, candies, and prizes.  My husband's booth gave out gazebo-making kits (using toothpicks and gumdrops), city maps, golf tees, and lots of candies :).  We also saw a Lifeflight helicopter landing.  That was cool!  My 8 yo son got to go inside the helicopter.

2. Running water.  Last weekend we had a bad leak in our water pipe that made us not able to have running water for quite some time.  The Lord helped us find the leak. My husband fixed it; it was wonderful to have running water again.   We're so thankful.

3. Habanero BBQ almonds.  Very yummy.

4. Keith Green movie.  I'm really excited about a new movie about Keith Green, my all-time favorite musician (you probably can tell if you regularly visit my blog :)). I hope and pray that it will stay true to his life with no compromise.

5. My 16 year old daughter got her driving permit yesterday.  As I've been saying, she will probably be driving before me :).  (I don't drive.)

Looks like a great day at the work fair. I would have been so tempted to eat those gumdrops rather than make a gazebo :)

I'm glad the running water was restored. That would be hard to do without.

Congratulations to your girl! Now she can drive you around.

I'm going to pop over and have a look at the Keith Green movie write-up. That sounds interesting. And I'm with you - I hope they tell his story with no compromise. It would be fitting wouldn't it?

Happy weekend!

What a fun work fair. My kids were always fascinated with medical helicopters and ambulance/fire trucks at those kinds of fairs.

Congrats to your daughter on her driver's license.

Sometimes we take things for granted like running water and we don't realize what a blessing it is until it's gone for a while. I realized that with out power this spring when it went out for half a day. I never realized how much I depended on electricity for so many things in my normal day. So glad your water was fixed easily and quickly.

Oh my, I remember those days when my girls turned 16 and got their license ... and how my insurance premiums went up! God bless you!

Nothing like being without running water to make you realize how necessary it is!

I was not aware they were doing a movie about Keith Green, my husband will be happy to hear that.

Habanero Almonds sound delicious!

The work fair does sound like fun. For kids AND adults. We definitely don’t appreciate the gift of running water until we don’t have it. Glad your leak is fixed.

Good luck to your daughter driving! I’m going through that with my daughter right now. You can let her teach you how. :-)
