Upside is a story about a high school senior who experiences an upside-down vision after a head injury. This change of perspective leads to other challenges and changes regarding relationships, belief, talents, and decision-making that affects his future. Through his friendship with a beautiful, joyful blind lady, he learns that life with faith in God makes all the difference. I enjoyed the flow of the story. However, some things in the movie are not very clear (the relationship between the main character and his mother, the new insights that come from the new perspective, the point of the poem, the content/significance of the main character's report paper). The acting is quite good. The music is very good.
What I don't like includes: 1. There were a few uses of God’s name in vain--“g-o-s-h” and there was one instance of saying “Good Lord” without meaning it. 2. Immodest dressing. Several outfits were tight/revealing. Oh, and there was a boyfriend and girlfriend kissing.
Besides all that, though, this is a well-done, enjoyable movie that reminds us to look up to God when things around us don't look right. My 17 year old daughter loves it and was pleasantly surprised by the level of talent in this film.
