Friday's Fave Five #8

It's time for another Friday's Fave Five (hosted by Susanne at Living to Tell the Story).

My fave five this week include:
1. Great bargains.  We bought a bike for our 11 yo son for $2 and a bagful of nice clothes for $1 at a church's rummage sale. We also got 24 DVDs for $20 at our local Hollywood Video store which was closing down.  After we watch them, we'll trade the ones we don't want to keep on DVD Swap (I mentioned about that last week).

2. Fun family time at Wunderland (an arcade).  On Tuesday, my husband took a day off and spent time with us (so glad we homeschool and can take a day off whenever we want to).  We all had lots of fun and only spent about $15.  My husband was extremely good at one of the games and won us tons of tickets which we traded in for several cool toys (worth more than $15).

3. Simple joys are the best!  My boys can spend hours folding paper airplanes and testing them out.  I enjoyed watching them help each other and I enjoyed trying their planes out, too.  We also love doing Mad Libs (a great tool for teaching parts of speech).  Laughter is guaranteed to follow :).

4. Chili paste with basil leaves (product of Thailand).  Whenever I go to an Asian grocery store, this is the first thing I'm looking for.  It's a staple item for me; it makes everything taste good :).  It reminds me of Thailand (where I was born and raised).

5. My music playlist.  I like to visit my blog because I enjoy listening to the songs on my playlist :).  Right now, I'm listening to You Put This Love in My Heart by Keith Green.  What is your favorite song on your playlist (if you have one)?  If you don't have a playlist, what's your current favorite song (I might want to add it to my playlist :))?

Have a blessed Good Friday and Resurrection Day weekend, everyone!  Jesus paid it all for you and me so that we can spend eternity with God!  He died on that cross to save our souls.  Because He lives, we can face any day, any trials, anything.  We're victorious in Christ! There is no defeat...no despair...no death when we are in Christ.

Greetings from NYS! I don't think i've ever visited your blog before. Lovely.
Enjoyed reading your FFF. My favorite song right now on my playlist on the blog is "Beloved" by 10th Avenue North. It is based on Song of Solomon. Currently, in my car I am listening to Via Delorosa (perfect for today!) by Leeland whom I LOVE and he has been to our church about 4 years ago when first touring the East Coast. I also LOVE Keith Green and was in college when he was popular.....have all his music.
Have a blessed Resurrection Day!!

That basil chili paste sounds wonderful. I'll have to go to the Asian import store here and look for it.

Right now my favorite songs are "The Motions" by Matthew West and "By Your Side" by Tenth Avenue North.

Mad Libs are hilarious. My kids played those too!

Happy Easter!

Bargains and simple joys -- sounds like a great week! Oh, the days of paper airplanes and Mad Libs. My boys loved both.

No defeat, no despair -- because He lives. You saved the best till last.

Happy Easter!

I love a good bargain, too. You did great this week. I’m thankful for the flexibility of homeschooling, too. It’s so nice to be able to set your own schedule.

I love LOTS of the songs on your playlist. One of my many favorites is "From the Inside Out."

Have a blessed Easter!

Chili paste with basil sounds great, I'll have to keep my eyes out for that. I love unusual seasonings.

How sweet that your boys like to make paper airplanes for hours. I love it when little boys do things like that.

I love a good bargain as well, so congrats on those great buys!!! I have a friend that was born and raised in Thailand. She will actually be going back this summer with her husband. He will be teaching music at a University. They are going with the desire of being missionaries. They particularly have a heart for the children that are sold into prostitution.

Great bargins! Good for you!

Homeschooling is the best way to live! We homeschooled for 20 years and I often miss it. The Mad Libs sounds like a fun teaching tool. I'll mention it to my DIL who homeschools my grandkids.

I can't say that I have a favorite song - but I enjoyed the one on your player called "How Many Kings"
