Wanderin’ in the Desert is the third DVD in the What's In the Bible? series, the new DVD series from VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer. You can read my review of the first two episodes here. This third episode covers Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Kids will learn the difference between ritual rules (which only applied to the Israelites) and ethical rules (which still apply to us today), what a Pentateuch is, what "holy" means, and the reliability of the Bible. In this DVD, like the previous two in the series, you will find humorous puppet characters, catchy songs, Phil Vischer's talks, flannelgraph fun from the Sunday School lady, and more. The bonus features include The Robot & The Rabbit (lesson on gentleness), Our Miraculous Universe (about science, scientists, God, and the Bible), The Pentateuch Sing-along, Michael's deleted scenes, and show outtakes. What I don't like are: Michael, the boy character in the van who talks disrespectfully to his mother and the new character (female stage manager) who is bossy and annoying/disruptive.
I plan to use this DVD series in our homeschool curriculum as a review and supplement to our Bible study. It's a cool tool that helps make the Bible come alive. It is engaging, entertaining, and educational. My kids enjoyed it and got lots out of it. We all are looking forward to the future DVDs in the series. ~ I received a review copy of this DVD from Tyndale House Publishers.

How Shall We Dress?
I am not talking about the modesty issue here although I'm a big fan of modesty :). Did you know that God picks an outfit for us? We are children of God, the King of kings, and we are expected to be "dressing" differently than the world. Can the world tell when they look at us that we are Christ's ambassadors and that we belong to God's kingdom?
"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:12-14"All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.'" 1 Peter 5:5b
"Clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature." Romans 13:14
Each day, let's examine ourselves to see if we are properly dressed as God's holy, dearly loved, chosen people. Do others see Christ in us when they take a look at us? If not, we need to change our "clothes."
