"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Colossians 3:23-24
"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble." 1 Corinthians 10:31-32a
Whatever we do, we need to do it with the right attitude and the right motive. In Colossians 3:23-24, we are told to work with all our heart (with enthusiasm) as working for the Lord. Did you know that the word, "enthusiasm" came from Greek words: en (in, within, to be filled) + theos (God)? If we are filled with God's Holy Spirit, let it show in "whatever we do". In 1 Corinthians 10:31-32a, we are told to do everything for God's glory and to not cause anyone to stumble. We need to examine ourselves. "Whatever we do"...is it for our own fame and glory...for our own fleshly desire...for our own selfish gains? Or "whatever we do"...we do to please and honor/glorify God by following the example of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1b)? If so, then we won't be causing anyone to stumble, either. "Whatever you/we do" includes the way we dress, books we read, movies we watch, what we write/blog, songs we listen to/sing, games we play, what we post on Facebook or Twitter, what we do when nobody sees/hears us, etc.

All to the glory of God: That's how we should live every moment of our lives.
Pretty tall order. Great post:-)
Amen!
That is so true; It's a fine line that we walk and sometimes we may find ourselves walking that fine line.
I was reading 1 Corinthians yesterday and it was a reminder that we are still sinners that are weak and no one is every perfect and can be perfect; There was only one man who completely was, Jesus Christ.
There are days we may think we are walking three steps forward, when actually we are walking two steps back and we have to be careful that what we are doing, isn't for others, but truly is for Him and it's easy to decieve our hearts and think that it is for Him, when what we do, is for the attention and praise of others.
Fantastic WFW!! Love it!
This is the Scripture I always carry in my heart every time I'm in my workplace...There are so many negatives but remembering that I'm doing it for the Lord and no one else, gives me the sense of fulfillment and knowing that there is a purpose for His glory! Blessings to you.
great reminder that even the little things (like raking leaves) should be done for Jesus!!
You know I need this reminder...it doesn't say "some things.." it's in EVERYTHING do it for the Lord...ah, yes, I need this....peace to you for sharing it!

I love the photo and also the Word study from Greek! Soli Deo Gloria! May we remember that we are filled with the Holy Spirit and act accordingly. May we be more aware of what we do and who we serve!
