Worldly Wisdom (James 3:14-15)

- There are two kinds/two sources of wisdom: Heavenly Wisdom (from God) vs. Worldly/Devilish Wisdom (from the world...from the devil).
- Their fruits are so very different. While heavenly/godly wisdom leads to good life/right living/good deeds done in
humility, worldly wisdom leads to bitter envy (jealousy) and selfish ambition (self-seeking, self-serving, self-interest).
- "Do not boast about it or deny the truth."--Our words and action reveal what kind of wisdom we have and whether self or Christ has preeminence in our lives.
- Let's compare these verses to Philippians 2:3-5, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset (attitude) as Christ Jesus."
