The prophets suffered a lot (they were often persecuted and were the
target of grumbling and criticism) but they were patient. They were
blessed because they didn't give up. We have their example to remind us
that God will prevail and that there's an end to all sufferings.

Job was a great example of steadfastness. Patient endurance stems from
the conviction that hardships are not meaningless, but God has some
purpose in them which He will accomplish. Whenever we're tempted to
think about how bad our situation is, the example of Job brings us back
to reality :). He lost all his kids, all his possessions, his health, and his reputation.

We Christians have the unique privilege of knowing the ending. We're on
the winning team! This should instill great confidence, comfort, peace,
and patience in us. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy!!!
